As part of our Social Studies curriculum, we spend time focused on the three R's (reduce, reuse, recycle). The students collect items from home such as used wrapping paper, paper egg cartons, toilet paper rolls, cardboard, ribbons, buttons, and more! We use these materials to make beautiful abstract pieces of art. The students enjoy working on this project and come up with some great results. And we are also learning about how we can have an impact on helping our earth by reducing the amount of earths resources we use, by reusing materials more than once, and by recycling plastics, paper, and cans.
